Mimi & Cici ant Cici’s Volleyball Senior Night in October ’14. FYI- Mimi stands at just about 5′ 8″- hardly short. But Cici stands at 6′ 1″- in her court shoes she is just under 6′ 2″. Hence the reason she plays volleyball- and no she doesn’t play basketball 🙂

Mimi here-

In the past few months I have had 4 of those Aha! moments.

1) I read somewhere “What ever you spend the most time doing when you’re procrastinating should be your full-time job.”

I spend an inordinate amount of a little time searching the web, blogs and Pinterest. The intent, of course, is to find inspiration to complete way too many a few projects I have started or dreamed of starting. So if I start a blog and have somewhere to be held accountable for showcase the ones I have started I might actually complete them.

2) A little over a year back I got a shiny new DSLR camera. I used it to record Cici’s special events, photos of the pets etc. A month ago the camera had a catastrophic failure. (NOT my fault). For a moment it appeared that we might not be able to replace it for a LONG while. I was devastated. Luckily we DID get it replaced. So if I start a blog I might learn to do more than just use the automatic settings on my camera and maybe I will finish my Project Life album.

3) Cici became a Senior this year. Because I am such a helicopter involved mom I know that I am going to need to find a way to spend that time when she graduates in the Spring. So if I start a blog I will have to do things to post.

4) I just hit the crest of the hill as it were. At 40 I no longer want to work the hours I have been working and I want to explore and cultivate my creative side, so if I start a blog…

    LOL, I can identify with this post so much! My oldest just bought her first house, and I’m learning to stop parenting (not)! My youngest graduates this year and wants to move away (gasp) for post secondary school! Lastly, I spend way too much time on the internet. Love your writing style and sense of humour, brought a smile to my face today. Thanks for visiting my blog, I look forward to following yours as well!

      Hi Colina,
      Can we ever really stop parenting?? I suspect from reading your intro that we had a few things in common. Cici is moving about 3 hours away, close enough to come home for the weekend if she likes but far enough to keep my helicopter ways at bay 😉 Thank you for stopping by mine and I look forward to getting to know you better!

    Wow–just clicked on your pinterest link 139 boards!!?? You put me to shame! Or maybe I shouldn’t go down that rabbit hole…blogosphere already has me staying up til 1am; & I take my youngest to school by 7:30. Good luck w/Cici’s graduation. Does she know where she’s going to college yet? My oldest is a Sophomore in college!

      Haha Yep WAYYY too many hours spent on pinterest :/ Lots of want to’s and should do’s but mostly incompletes so far lol. Very habit forming especially with the pinterest app on my phone- great way to pass the hours waiting in line though.
      Cici applied to 1 college 3 days after her Junior year ended, was accepted early admit in July. She tossed around applying to a couple of others but after a few visits decided on the state school she had been accepted to. She is a planner so she currently plans to stay in school until she gets her MD. The crazy thing is she will likely do it.
      Forgive me for saying so but that is a rather large gap in ages!! I am always in awe of mom’s with more than one child- Cici has kept me running over the years and the thought of trying to do it for 2 or more is min boggling. Thanks for taking the time to check out my stuff 🙂
